Embark on a fascinating journey to uncover the mystical story of the renowned “Venus de Milo,” one of the most celebrated ancient Greek sculptures. Dating back to around 200 BC, this statue symbolizes love and beauty and is widely believed to depict the goddess Aphrodite.
Your tour starts at the Archaeological Museum of Plaka, showcasing the island’s rich history.
After visiting the museum, enjoy a leisurely stroll along a charming cobblestone pathway lined with Cycladic homes. Pause at the breathtaking church of Panagia Korfiatissa, where you can take in panoramic views that rival those of Santorini.
Relax under the shade of trees in the nearby square, before boarding the coach and continuing to the ancient site where the Venus de Milo was discovered.
Upon arriving at the excavation site, take a moment to appreciate the untouched landscape that has remained undisturbed for over 2,500 years. Capture some photos before wandering over to the marble Roman Theatre, which is considered one of the most beautiful remote theatres in Greece.
EXTENDED
Conclude your tour at the early Christian Catacombs and the small chapel of Agia Paraskevi, carved into the rocky slope—a fitting finale to this immersive encounter with Milos’s storied past.
