The itinerary features several photo stops, including the prehistoric and commercial town of Obsidian, Phylakopi. Visitors can admire the western fortification wall from the plateau of Papafragas, a natural inlet composed of volcanic tuff. At the same time, the local guide will share the fascinating story of the archaeological site.
Next, the tour proceeds to Sarakiniko Bay, where the lunar-like scenery—formed by compacted volcanic ash and million-year-old fossils—creates the sensation of “landing on the moon.” Here, participants will have the opportunity to wander around, explore the area’s unique features, and take unforgettable photographs.
The tour concludes with a visit to the Mining Museum of Milos, which provides an insightful snapshot of the island’s geological heritage. Its exceptional acquisition is the famous obsidian collection of the esteemed folklorist Zafiris Vaos.
